Prior to forming Fiscal Reps Limited (FiscalReps) in 2003 Mike had worked in the insurance industry in both Bermuda and the Lloyds market in London after qualifying as a chartered accountant in 1995. Mike is a member of the ICAEW and was granted fellowship of the institute in 2011.
During his time in the insurance industry Mike has been involved in a broad range of business areas, including client money management, financial reporting, business strategy, taxation and IT development.
Since the formation of FiscalReps in 2003, Mike has built the infrastructure necessary to deliver an international outsourced tax compliance solution and manages the day-to-day operations of the business, overseeing the growth client base, expertise and range of products.
Mike has also recruited and developed a team of premium tax specialists, unrivalled in the market place in terms of experience and expertise, who deliver a consistently high service to clients.

Paul Chater AIIT, Senior IPT Specialist
Paul Chater recently joined FiscalReps as a Senior IPT Specialist from his position as an Indirect Tax Manager in KPMG’s Insurance Group. He brings a wealth of experience from previous senior positions in industry and HM Revenue & Customs (HMRC).

Ann Stalley, Head of Compliance Services
Ann is responsible for local compliance and network operations at FiscalReps. She ensures all client tax returns are submitted to the correct tax authority, in accordance with local regulations. Ann is also responsible for managing relationships with tax authorities, regulators and associates across the globe, keeping the FiscalReps team informed of any changes in local law and tax regulation. “This is a very challenging role,” says Ann. “The huge differences in procedural and cultural values in each territory mean there is never a dull moment.”

Kitty Christopherson, Business Development Manager
Kitty is responsible for liaising with new clients and engages with existing clients to uncover any additional insurance premium tax requirements they may have. Kitty, who has worked for FiscalReps since 2006, says: “I enjoy working with our clients to ensure we are providing them with comprehensive solutions to their IPT problems.”

Susie Crew BA FCA, Head of Finance
Susie oversees the operational side of FiscalReps’ business, including accounting, banking and insurances. As well as internal procedures, Susie is responsible for all client monies passing through FiscalReps accounts, and making sure these monies are sent to the relevant tax authority when due. Susie says: “I get a buzz from the technical variety within my role.” Susie qualified as an accountant with Ernst & Young in 1994, and has considerable experience of implementing risk management and compliance systems.

Leo Shaw BSC, Software Development Manager
Leo is responsible for software development and maintaining FiscalReps’ software products. “I work with clients, as well as our internal users, to identify new software requirements and uphold the high standards of our current products,” says Leo, who has over 10 years experience within the computing sector.

Peter Hore, VAT Consultant
Over the last decade, Peter was responsible for all the indirect tax affairs of Aviva plc a UK headquartered composite insurer, which is one of the world’s largest insurers and based in 27 countries around the world. Since leaving Aviva, Peter has supported a wide range of services to an even wider range of UK & European organisations, such as a leading UK insurer, to assisting high tech companies with European VAT reclaims and VAT return procedures, research bodies in relation to VAT liability issues. One specialism Peter holds is in the analysis of large amounts of data to identify unrecovered VAT.

Asher Harris, US Consultant
Asher Harris conducts a boutique law practice, limited to the practice of tax law. Due to his experience with one of the world’s most prominent law firms, and with one of the most highly respected reinsurance companies, Mr. Harris gives clients access to the type of tax expertise normally only available in large law firms, together with the personal attention, responsiveness, and cost-efficiency of a small law practice.
Asher Harris’ core practice is in the representation of insurance companies, reinsurers, and those forming a captive insurance company. In addition, Mr. Harris represents clients on income tax matters arising out of their personal or commercial activities. Although generally retained by attorneys who do not have direct access to tax expertise within their law firm, he is also retained directly by clients who have specific tax law needs.

Karen Jenner, Insurance Consultant
Karen Jenner joined FiscalReps in 2010 as an insurance consultant. Karen has over 20 years of experience in the insurance arena, 15 years spent in the city working in both broking and underwriting roles. The bulk of her career was spent at Chartis, working in various roles in Major Accounts Practice, responsible for the global insurance programmes of some the top 100 FTSE companies. In her consultancy role, Karen provides invaluable global technical insurance guidance to FiscalReps.
